Established by the City of Danville as a direct extension of PLANDanville, the Neighborhood Action Plan (NAP) grant program serves as a strategic framework for community-led development. These initiatives empower local residents to identify and address specific challenges through structured municipal support. By fostering a model of self-determination, the NAP program enables effective collaboration among stakeholders, ensuring that neighborhood trajectories are shaped by those who inhabit them, thereby cultivating a more resilient urban fabric.
At the commencement of 2026, the City awarded grant funding to three distinct community organizations. The North Main Visionaries and Friends of the Old West End were selected to spearhead the development of new Neighborhood Action Plans over the coming months. Concurrently, the Almagro Community Council, which operates under an established NAP, received funding designated for the improvement of its community center.
